MEC or Magna Entertainment Corp has just announced that they have been awarded a Gaming license for the slots at the Gulfstream Park racetrack by the state of Florida. The park is operated and powered by a subsidiary of the Magna Entertainment Corp. The President of MEC said that the company considers this a huge gain for the gambling industry and the slots will make the park became on the leading racing/gaming areas. Right now the house of Representatives is in debate over the changes to the Pennsylvania gambling laws. They are considering rejecting certain parts of the new legislation that was passed in the late September. The house is thinking about proposing some changes, but it is still unclear rather or not the changes will be approved. They still agree that indoor smoking should be banned, but it also took away the gambling interest of public officials, unless it was a mutual investment.
